Bleh. I think that about says it all. I'm cranky, tired & hot. It's supposed to be almost 100 tomorrow. *whimper* I HATE the heat. Should've stayed in Oregon, I guess. Heh
Things are going all right though. Not as great as could be, but not as bad either. So, I guess you'd say I'm stuck somewhere in the middle. Ha!
Work's been busy, which is always good. The big boss is coming into town, which is never good. Drama, drama, drama! AAAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!
Waiting for the wash cycle to finish so I can put my clothes in the dryer. Fun, huh? :P
Writing's going, I guess. I'm coming up with fantastic ideas for everything but the manuscript I'm supposed to be working on. Muse, why do you hate me soooooo???? :(
And honestly, that's about it. Work, sleep, eat...not necessarily in that order. *headdesk*

Life & Stuff & Things
Man, I really do suck at titles, don't I? :P
Things are good. Busy with a capital "B" though. Sheesh! I'm tired & cranky, but that's nothing new. Ha!
Looking forward to the Florence + the Machine concert in July. This will be the first concert I've attended since Metallica back in '97 when I was 21. Yes, I am that lame. For the most part, even if I WANTED to go to a concert, I couldn't afford it. Either that or it was on a weird night and I'd be out too late. Man, I'm getting old. Pfft...
Ordered a pizza & two Pepsis. Delivery came & only 1 Pepsi was there. I had a sad, but the delivery guy told me he'd get them to give me my money back. Not even 5 minutes later, there's a knock on my door. It's the delivery guy with another Pepsi. How sweet was that??? So, that made my day.
Dealing with a sinus headache from hell. I'm so tired of my allergies this year! Argh! But, am bound & determined to get some writing done this weekend. That's my goal, anyway. Tomorrow we're having bear roast over at my brother & SIL's. My dad & brother went bear hunting a few weeks ago and my brother got a doozy! I can't wait! Bear meat is 100% my favorite meat. So sweet & delish!
I'm off again, but couldn't resist leaving you a song I've become obsessed with lately. I love Pandora radio. That is all.

Oh Boy!
Where to start? *taps finger on chin* Well, starting at the beginning never hurts, so I'll do that. Heh
May 31st (Thursday)-Spent the night over at the parents. I had asked my mom if she would be willing to take me to get my rental car on Friday because I didn't want to leave my poor, defenseless car at Enterprise during the weekend. We had a lovely time. I miss hanging out with her, so it was nice to just chill, listen to music & be...us. :)
June 1st (Friday)-Got up early to shower & get ready. My mom drove me to Enterprise. It's a good thing she didn't take off, because Enterprise decided to screw me over. I had arranged to rent WAY back in January when I'd signed up for the Lori Foster Event. I got my total, was happy & moved on. Yeah, nowhere on the site did it saying anything about a HUGE deposit they wanted to charge me. I was quite taken aback, not only because of said deposit, but by how unbelievably rude they were to me. I left them in quite a huff and went out to tell my mom what had happened. She wasn't happy either, so we left & drove to Chase to wait for the bank to open.
As we were waiting, my mom said I should call Hertz to see what their deposit is & if I could rent a car with them. I called & they had both a lower deposit & were about $50 cheaper. So, I asked them to set up a rental for me. I had calculated this whole thing down to the last penny, but didn't have anywhere near enough to pay for the rental & my hotel. *sigh* Thank goodness for my mama. She gave me the money for the rental & I'm paying her back when I can.
So, rented the car & took off for West Chester. It was kind of rainy & overcast, but the drive was smooth. Thank you, Lord! I didn't get to leave Michigan until almost 9:30, which really screwed up my itinerary, but it all worked out. Reached the hotel around 2 and found my buddy Liza almost immediately. We hugged, said hi & then I got some food to take up to my room. I needed some time to just unwind for a bit. 3 1/2 hours is a long drive!
Registration was around 4ish, so I went downstairs to get in line. Was standing in line with some buddies chatting & I turned to the lady behind me and started chatting her ear off. Me? Know a stranger? Surely you jest! Ha!
Got thru registration and went into the main ballroom area where dinner was set up. Made my way around meeting new people & catching up with old friends. The atmosphere was very upbeat & excited, so the buzz was going good by the time the pizza came out. My buddies & I took up 2 full tables & we weren't quiet. Heh.
After dinner, Carina Press had set up Romance Pictionary. Oy! What a funny time that was. My table was obsessed with penis, though that was never the answer. Drat! :P
I didn't win, but I did draw. Mine was first kiss. Yeah, not such a good drawer. Ha!
Much giddiness & goofiness later, I conked out. Went up to my room around 11 & passed out. I probably could've gone on for another hour or so, but honestly was so tired I wouldn't have been good company. Sad. :(
June 2nd (Saturday)-I slept in on Saturday. I know, I know, there was so much to do, but I had a very good reason. I had a pitch appointment at 2:20 & I wanted to be relatively awake for it. I got up around 8:45 and was downstairs by 9:30 or so. The first people I saw were two lovely authors I had met the day before. I had told them I was pitching & was very nervous because it was my first time. They pulled me over to an empty seating area & basically made me practice with them. Talk about helpful! They gave me a few pointers & just told me to be myself. Eek!
Got some breakfast, met up with a friend, talked for a few hours & then it was time for my pitch. Talk about being nervous! Eek! I found the boardroom where my pitch was to take place & then went out by the elevators to try to get my mind off it.
As I was standing there, one of the women came around the corner & told me she'd just pitched to the same publisher I was pitching to. That was all well & good, until she told me I would be pitching to SIX PEOPLE! Say what? I was barely ready to talk to one, let alone six. But, I got it together & made my way to where I was supposed to make my pitch. There was someone else in the room when I got there, so I sat down & waited. When she was done, I went inside. Who was the first person I saw, but the lady I'd chatted with while waiting in line for registration the day before. *headdesk*
I KNOW I had an expression on my face that said "Oh, crap," but I was trying to remember if I'd said anything I shouldn't have. Ha!
But, they made me feel super comfortable almost immediately & I started talking. They asked great questions & kind of helped me figure out a way to get the story to really gel, so that was awesome. Right before the meeting was over, the owner (who was sitting next to me) said she thought she had the title. She gave it to me & it's PERFECT!!!
I was getting ready to get up when they dropped the bomb on me. They asked me for the full manuscript!!!! EEEEEEEEKKKKKKK!!!!! Honestly, you could've knocked me over with a feather. Ha! I made it out of there with my composure intact, but lost it as soon as I'd left the room. I burst into tears. Everyone was hugging me & asking if I was all right, but I was so overwhelmed that I couldn't say anything!!!
I made my way out to find my friends to tell them & then I had to go up to my room to have a mini-freak out. LOL! I ended up crashing & sleeping for almost 2 hours. Went downstairs & was on such an emotional high I honestly don't remember 99% of what happened the rest of the night. However, when I crashed, I crashed hard! Went to bed & I was gone. Slept through my alarm on Sunday, but still got home by 12:30.
And that's it. I'm this close to being a published author, people. I still can't get my head wrapped around it. It's been my dream for so long. I know I still have a long road ahead of me, but that's okay. I'm one step closer.
So, I'm working on the story now. Getting it as ready as it will be. We'll see what happens. Whee!!!!
